We recommend using a professional floor-layer, but if you would rather give it a go yourself follow these basic instructions:

Check that the subfloor is clean, dry and smooth/flat. If it isn't then do remedial works before fitting.

Use a sharp knife.

Vinyl can be secured in three different ways; either stuck down, perimeter fixed or loose laid.
(We supply double-sided anti-plas tape if perimeter fixing is your preferred method)

Some DIY’ers use their old flooring as a template to cut around.

A few tips to keep your new vinyl floorcovering looking good as new…

Place large surface plastic castor cups under any chair legs and heavy appliances.
Avoid subjecting the flooring to stiletto heels, sharp knives etc. and hot surfaces such as saucepans.
Be aware that some latexes/rubbers which contain certain antioxidants can permanently stain your floor. Rubber of this type is often used in the manufacture of backings for rugs and mats, protective feet for stools and wheels for trolleys as well as low cost shoes and slippers.
Regularly damp mop with a suitable diluted floor cleaner, following the manufacturer’s dilution recommendations.
Thoroughly rinse the floor with clean warm water. Leave this to dry before walking on the floor.
Do not use strong detergents, harsh abrasive powders or wire wool scouring pads, as they will damage the surface of your floorcovering.
